Pistis Contracting Inc. operating as Safer Inventory ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information in connection with our inventory management platform at saferinventory.comand related services (the "Service").

This policy is written in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal private-sector privacy law.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use the Service, or contact us for support. This includes:

Account information: name, email address, password (hashed)
Business information: company name, billing address, phone number
Inventory and order data you enter into the platform (product names, SKUs, stock levels, purchase and sales orders)
Integration credentials: Shopify API tokens, Wave tokens (stored encrypted at rest)
Payment information: processed via Stripe; we do not store raw card numbers
Communications: emails, support tickets, and contact form submissions

We also collect certain information automatically when you use the Service:

Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps
Device information: operating system, screen resolution, device identifiers
Cookies and similar technologies for session management and analytics

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Service
Process transactions and send billing-related communications
Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
Send transactional emails (account alerts, order notifications)
Send marketing communications — only with your consent, and you may opt out at any time
Monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your inventory or order data to train machine learning models or for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

3. How we share your information

We share personal information only as necessary to operate the Service:

Service providers: We use third-party vendors (listed below as sub-processors) to operate the Service, including hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and error tracking. These vendors process your data only on our behalf and under our instructions.
Integrations you authorize: When you connect Shopify, Wave, or other third-party services, we share data necessary to power those integrations.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred.

4. Sub-processors

We use the following sub-processors to operate the Service:

Neon (Neon Inc.) — PostgreSQL database hosting (AWS us-east-1)
Vercel — web application hosting and CDN
Stripe — payment processing
Clerk — authentication and user management
Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
Twilio — SMS notifications (optional, for Shopify order SMS)
Upstash / Redis — job queue and caching

5. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.

Transaction records (invoices, order history) may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with Canadian tax and accounting requirements.

6. Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Withdraw consent to the use of your personal information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
Export your inventory and order data in CSV format at any time from your account settings
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for:

Session cookies — required to keep you logged in
Preference cookies — to remember your settings (e.g., theme)
Analytics cookies — to understand how the Service is used (anonymized, no cross-site tracking)

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

TLS encryption in transit (HTTPS enforced on all endpoints)
AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive credentials
Hashed passwords (never stored in plaintext)
Role-based access control within organizations
Regular security reviews

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@saferinventory.com.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the Service at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
